Old Age Psychiatry – Inpatients

Full time –Ten Sessions Woodlands Hospital Salford

1 year fixed term appointment

This is a full time appointment for a Specialty Grade Doctor to work at Woodlands hospital within the Salford Directorate.   The Salford district services has undergone a redesign and modernisation process which has taken into account recent change in the NHS and Age quality legislation. This has promoted the development of an integrated service based on need and closer working relationship between services for older and younger adults. The Woodlands Hospital is to become center of excellence to provide functional and organic later life services for Salford and Bolton residents.

Later life inpatient unit (Post holder is based at this site)

The later life inpatient unit is based at Woodlands hospital Peel Lane, Little Hulton, Salford, M28 0FE  

Woodlands is an older adult inpatient facility located in Little Hulton, Salford. Referrals are from Bolton and Salford Older Adult Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) or via GMMH Liaison team based within A&E departments at Royal Bolton and Salford Royal Hospitals. Patients can be admitted either as informal or under detention. Woodlands provide intensive support in managing both functional and organic mental illness. Our aim is to help service users become well enough to return to living in their local community, whether that’s in their own home or in a nursing or care home.
